Yes, as a Hanson and history teacher, I can confirm that John Hanson was a
president of the Continental Congress in 1781. It is a little-known fact
and probably of little importance except to us Hansons. Most history
textbooks don't bother to mention him.

Contact the folks in Maryland where they have a highway named after him and there is a group that honors his role. ========================================================================= Date: Wed, 21 Mar 2001 10:01:11 -0500 Reply-To: African-American History Forum Sender: African-American History Forum From: "Abotare, Akua" Subject: Re: john hanson and the articles of confederation MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="ISO-8859-1" thank you for your prompt response to my question. my followup question then is: was john hanson a moor, and more interestingly, was he of african ancestry? akua -----Original Message----- From: David Hanson [mailto:dhanson@VW.CC.VA.US] Sent: Saturday, March 17, 2001 4:25 PM To: AFRICAN-AMERICANFORUM@ASHP.LISTSERV.CUNY.EDU Subject: Re: john hanson and the articles of confederation Yes, as a Hanson and history teacher, I can confirm that John Hanson was a president of the Continental Congress in 1781.
