Can anybody inform me what are the names of some of
the most current books written on Imperialism during
the past 2 to 5 years?

Are there any books or important articles on
Imperialism and globalization. We are currently doing
a research document at our university for a graduate
program and are very interested in finding any
bibliography available in either Italian, English or Spanish.

Michael Parenti's AGAINST EMPIRE, published in 1995, is excellent. I don't
have the publisher's name handy. Write me if you need it.

For a recent bibliography on American imperialism you might consult the
bibliography in a new book on American imperialism by Frank Ninkovich. There
are also many excellent essays in Gilbert Joseph, et al, eds., CLOSE
ENCOUNTERS OF EMPIRE which would make a good starting point.

You should go into his webpage for information on all of his books and
speeches. Grover Furr who teaches at Montclair State University also has a good
webpage with many related links and sources.

Take a look at Scott Cook "Colonial Encounters in the Age of High
Imperialism" 1996. Longman World History Series. He does an excellent
job of looking at the zone of interaction, as well as topics such as
colonizing technologies and women as colonizers and colonized.

William Blum has two recent and useful books: Killing Hope: U.S.Militar
and CIA Interventions since World War II; and his most recent book:
Rogue State: A Guide to the World's Only Superpower. They are not happy
reading, but they do certainly get students' attention.

Thanks to Mr. Jandrowitz. I checked out Grover Furr's webpage and found lots
of resources on Vietnam, including a great source for Tim O'Brien's "The
Things They Carried"--a work taught in our English and History classes.
